Sunflower is always on the lookout for potential Teachers to join our wonderful team in our Seedlings early childhood program; a mixed-age, play-based child-led preschool program (for 3-6 year olds). Our Part-Time schedule is perfect for parents who want to work while their children are in school, for students looking to work around their school schedule, or for those looking to stay involved with important work once moving on from a full time position.
We are looking for creative, enthusiastic assistants who are comfortable in a positive hands-on learning environment entirely based in play, nature and the arts. If you love children and enjoy making a difference in their lives, this position is for you.
Sunflower’s Seedlings is a Parent Cooperative preschool. We have respectfully nurtured young children’s growth for more than 30 years. The pillars of our educational philosophy are simple: Respect for the Individual, Learning within Community, and Learning through Experience. Our teaching staff and our Seedlings parents work as a team to bring these pillars to life each and every day.
In Seedlings you will:
Build sandcastles – make play dough – answer questions – read books – sort dress up clothes – get really dirty and wet – paint toes – tell stories – listen to stories – treat skinned knees – protect bees – build cardboard robots – mediate disagreements – build block cities – share snacks – hold hands – play pretend.

Things we are looking for:
Florida Childcare 40-hour Introductory Child Care Training or active Staff Credential for this position is a plus.

As a Summer Seedlings Camp Counselor you will:

Join Sunflower Creative Arts’s mission to empower children through creativity and play in under-resourced communities across Palm Beach County. Our Build & Play programs invite children of all ages to create, invent, and build using their imagination and a variety of loose parts such as cardboard boxes, tape, fabric, paper tubes, yarn, and art supplies.
As a Build & Play Counselor, you will facilitate sessions at local nonprofit organizations hosting preschool and afterschool programs. You’ll set up the space with materials and support children as they lead in their own play, fostering creativity, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills.
Build & Play Afterschool initially started as a mobile pop-up-play program and has since grown with support from the Children’s Services Council, offering consistent weekly sessions in partnership with 5 local nonprofit organizations. Our counselors work with afterschool coordinators to provide a safe, open outdoor space where children can unleash their energy, build creations, and engage in meaningful play.
In every session, our counselors witness remarkable leaps in creativity. Children have built everything from time machines to cozy homes complete with decorated Christmas party rooms and even restaurants serving hot soups to students and adults alike.
We are looking for creative, enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about childhood development and comfortable in a positive, hands-on learning environment focused on play, creativity, and community impact.
