Seedlings Application Process – 3 Steps

Seedlings is for ages 3-6. Children must be 3 years old by Sept. 1, 2017.
Little Seedlings is for ages 2-3. Children must be 2 years old by Sept. 1, 2017.
Children under these ages may be considered at the admission team’s discretion.

Step 1

Attend an Introduction to Seedlings Meeting

Learn about Sunflower’s educational philosophy and tour our indoor and outdoor classroom spaces. Must RSVP to attend. This meeting is for adults and babies in arms only. No older children, please.

The next Intro to Seedlings meetings will be July 10, 2017, 6:00 – 7:30 pm, and Aug. 10, 2017, 6:00 – 7:30 pm.

Step 2

Attend a Seedlings Visiting Day with your child

Prospective Seedlings and their parents must attend the program as visitors for at least one day. This visit is important, as it will determine if the program meets everyone’s needs.

Visitor fee is $40 per visit and covers your child’s hands-on participation in the class.

Step 3

Complete Application and Pay Application Fee

To be considered for any opening that may become available, or join the waiting list, you must complete the Seedlings online application. Application does not ensure enrollment.

An Application Fee, which covers the administrative costs of processing your application, is $50 per child and is non-refundable.

 


Acceptance and Enrollment
Sunflower will notify families of acceptance, class placement & aid, or wait list status, by the end of May. Acceptance into the program is at the discretion of the admission team’s review and is based on space availability. To complete enrollment, families offered placement in 2017/18 Seedlings must return their signed commitment and pay $200 per family enrollment fee.

Little Seedlings 

*Little Seedlings is for ages 2-3. Children must be 2 years old by Sept. 1, 2017.
Children under this age may be considered at the admission team’s discretion.

About Little Seedlings

Little Seedlings is a transitional program that bridges the gap between parent/child classes and our full Seedlings Preschool program. The class encourages more independence in a longer program, two days a week. Parents are required to start the year attending with their child. Each class will include parent participation and ongoing mentoring and support.

About Our Parent Cooperative

Little Seedlings is a parent cooperative program. Parent participation is a requirement. This aspect of our program is essential and allows for a great deal of parental involvement and input. Little Seedlings parents will transition gradually into co-op responsibilities throughout the course of the year.

Class Schedule 2017/18 (Week of Aug. 21 – Week of May 21)

Sessions are either Monday/Tuesday, 9:00 – 11:45 am OR Wednesday/Thursday, 9:00 – 11:45 am (choose one).

Tuition

Tuition is divided into ten equal payments, due the first of the month June – April. An additional materials fee (divided into ten equal payments of $26 per payment, per child) is due with tuition. No payment due in December. First tuition payment, due June 1, 2017, is non-refundable. Annual Tuition includes 5% discount when paid in full by July 31, 2017.

Sibling Discount

We offer a 20% sibling tuition discount to families enrolling more than one child in Little Seedlings and/or Seedlings. The discount is applied to the second child’s tuition or the lesser tuition amount.
Discount does not apply to materials fee.

Financial Aid

Families in need may apply for financial aid. Awards are based on financial need and available funds. Call 561 501-6615 for an application. Financial Aid Applications for Fall 2017 must be received at the time of Little Seedlings Application or no later than May 15, 2017. Determinations made by May 26, 2017.

About Our Parent Cooperative

Seedlings is a parent cooperative program. Parent participation is a requirement. This aspect of our program is essential and allows for a great deal of parental involvement and input. Parent co-op responsibilities will range from 3 to 10 hours a month depending on the Seedlings options you choose. Parents who are unable to volunteer in the classroom will be assigned jobs which can be done in the evening or on the weekends.

2-Day Sessions are Mondays – Tuesdays
3-Day Sessions are Wednesdays – Fridays

Morning Sessions, 8:30 – 11:30 am, include snack.
Afternoon Sessions, 12:00 – 3:00 pm, include snack.
Full Day, 8:30 am – 3:00 pm, includes snack and lunchtime. Parents provide lunches.

Full-Day Options 2017/18
2-Day Full Day – 10 payments of $525 tuition + $32 materials fee 
3-Day Full Day – 10 payments of $788 tuition + $36 materials fee
5-Day Full Day – 10 payments of $1,134 tuition + $42 materials fee
